The world of Aratta has never been alone. Decades of contact with their neighbor planet of Shasa have finally brought about an expedition to finally visit the residents of the aquatic world face-to-face.
Dariya's dreams for herself never really went past the moment she was in, and her close friend, Nadari, had always been content with her mechanical tinkerings. But when the opportunity to voyage the stars and make history across two worlds presented itself, never in their wildest fantasies would they expect what awaited them among the cerulean nebulae and tropical oceans of an alien world.
Hard vacuum and radiation are not the only risks and perils of space.

Heyo! Your local Fishtonaut here! Just lettin' you know that PfS Chapters 1 and 2 are now properly illustrated! I'll be beating Satra over the head with a wad of cash soon for more, but for now I'mma give her a break since she's already got a Theana image on the cooker and she's currently taken a minor sick leave. Head over to her page and vomit your support all over her! satrathai.deviantart.com/
Although I'm on a personal bit of writer's block, I don't intend for it to last too long. Probably about as long as it takes to make up a new excuse~ Or until Chris Hadfield or Samantha Cristoforetti return my calls... In the meantime, I've been pondering how to proceed with future chapter releases. Obviously, there's some kinks that develop when I just copy-paste the RTF version into a PDF. Mainly with spacing and indentation. I may begin writing this entirely on Google Docs, formatting everything there and then porting it back into lighter-weight text formats for the emergency storage drive, while retaining PDF and Google Docs for Trekk and I to play with back and forth. This'll need some pondering but I'm just letting you know...
The big thing though is I intend to withhold future chapters until accompanying artwork by SatraThai can be completed. That way I don't have to go back and slip them in or do any other edits. What you get on release is the proper finished copy. Don't worry though, Satra has a pretty good turn-around rate for sketches~
So, the other day I was chatting with Melissa, you may remember her as the fiery flirt of a main character in the PfS audio drama thing I released a while back: It was pretty humbling to hear someone so prolific and actually has their shit together thank me for letting her be a part of this complete clusterfuck of a project. But thinking on it... it's not here that should be thanking me, it's I who should be thanking every one of you, for putting up with my spotty development schedule. And for putting up with this horribly veiled plug for the audio thing I spent way too much time and effort on... XD But seriously... thanks, if it weren't for you folks, I'd probably just taken up a hobby or something... gardening maybe...
And cause I'm sure you're drooling for something new, here's a slice from the next chapter we're still trying to bash out~! =====
The hike ended at a worn-down clearing at the foot of a large building. It was ancient, at least a thousand years old. Despite this, it showed plenty of signs of reconstruction in the centuries since. One of the walls looked to have completely collapsed and been rebuilt with the same giant stones. The courtyard out front was a veritable garden of bright flowers and tribal statues. Stone pillars carved into intricate shapes had long worn down their features in the storms and rains, year after year, century after century... yet the temple stood strong. "W-wow... do you think this was around during The Great Impact?" Nadari was quick to steal a closer look at some of the carvings. "Probably... but more importantly, do you think anyone is home?" Nadari smirked and pointed past a large shrub. "Probably... someone left their car parked here." It wasn't exactly a car, cars don't have legs. The horned-horse simply turned it's head to stare at us, it wasn't tied up, it wasn't penned in, it simply stood there waiting for it's rider to return. I wasn't much of an equestrian but Nadari's social upbringing had brought her on more than one fox hunt. "Hey there, you seen anyone around here?" Her question was redundant, the saddled mare was a clear indication, but the unicorn simply snorted and shook it's head in the direction of the temple. Either it was an answer or it was sick of the flies trying to get into it's ears.
